The purpose of the meeting will be to continue, together with Arlington County staff, to flesh out the scope of a project to improve Woodstock Park that will be funded through the Arlington Neighborhoods Program.
Potential improvements to the Park under this project may include adding fencing on the Woodstock Road side of the park or around parts or all of the playground area; a shade canopy structure; shade trees; low-level lighting; a power outlet; additional Adirondack chairs, benches, or picnic tables; drainage improvements; an additional bicycle rack; an artistic structure; a lower basketball hoop for younger children; and a native plant garden. These proposal are preliminary; after a more detailed plan for the project is formulated together with County staff, it will be presented for approval of the Civic Association by vote at a duly-noticed meeting.
