About the Event
The purpose of the Woodstock Park Project Committee meeting will be to commence the process of fleshing out the scope of a project to improve Woodstock Park that will be funded through the Arlington Neighborhoods Program.
Potential improvements to the Park under this project may include adding fencing on the Woodstock Road side of the park, a shade canopy structure, low-level lighting, a power outlet, additional Adirondack chairs, drainage improvements, and a speaker system (in the shade canopy structure) for outdoor meetings and events at the park. This scope of the project is preliminary and is based principally on a Civic Association survey of Woodstock Park users that was conducted in 2016. After a more detailed plan for the project is formulated together with Arlington County staff, it will be presented for approval of the Civic Association by vote at a duly-noticed meeting.
If you have suggestions for items that you would like to see added to or removed from the project description, please submit a message for Alex Luchenitser (the Waverly Hills Civic Association Delegate to the Arlington Neighborhoods Advisory Committee) via the web-form at https://www.waverlyhills.org/contact or join us (if you are a Waverly Hills Civic Association member) at the meeting.
The meeting will be open to Waverly Hills Civic Association members and any invited guests. You can join the Civic Association at https://www.waverlyhills.org/join.
The agenda for the meeting is (1) background on how the project description was formulated; (2) explanation of the process for working with County staff to flesh out the project description; (3) discussion of what items, if any, should be added to or removed from the project description; (4) discussion of what information should be sought from County staff in connection with the project.
You can join the meeting at Join Zoom Meeting. Or go to https://zoom.us/join and enter the Meeting ID, 824 2285 8398, and Passcode, 920060. As a virtual meeting, the meeting is being held in a location that is accessible to persons with disabilities and reasonable accommodation needs.
